University Tower

On 112 Street, which is the campus boundary. The only rooms on this site with a private balcony are here.

Compare with Garneau Towers

A tall, balconied tower directly across the street from campus. Every floor carries a run of balconies, and the Flex Balcony rooms open onto one through a full-height sliding door — the only private outdoor space we let in either building.

This is the building to pick if you want the shortest possible walk to a lecture, to the hospital, or to the LRT. It has no fitness centre, and the one at Garneau Towers is not yours to use from here — the two buildings are run separately and a room in one gives you nothing in the other. If the gym matters, take a room a hundred metres east instead.

Balconies

Continuous balconies on every floor, and the Flex Balcony rooms open straight onto one. It is the only private outdoor space on this site, and it is worth the fifteen dollars a fortnight in May.

Laundry on site

Front-loading washers and dryers with a sink, in the building. Bright room, big windows, and never a walk outside with a basket.

Across from campus

112 Street is the campus boundary and this building is on it. The hospital is four minutes, the Education building five, University station seven.

Kitchen

Kitchen

Full-size fridge, oven, microwave and a dishwasher, shared by the four bedrooms. A different kitchen from the one at Garneau Towers — same appliances, different room.

Bathroom

Bathroom

One bathroom with a tub and shower, shared by the four bedrooms. No room in either building has a private bathroom.

Laundry

Laundry

In the building rather than in the suite, which is the usual arrangement in a tower this size and the reason nobody queues for a machine at eight on a Sunday.
